While searching an abandoned space station, a group of young space colonists encounter the most terrifying life form in the universe. See how the movies in the Alien franchise are rated by IMDb users. Director Federico Álvarez called on the special effects team from Αλιενς: Η παραστέρων (1986) to work with the creatures. Physical scenery, realistic creatures and miniatures were used wherever possible to facilitate further work on visual effects. When Reyn shuts down the ship’s gravity and shoots all the aliens, all their blood hangs in the air in long, smeared patterns.

Due to weightlessness in real life, liquids take the form of spheres instead of spreading out into long flat pieces like in the movie. If you like the Alien franchise, there’s a better chance you’ll be satisfied with this movie… Because it combines most of the iconic elements that have made the franchise so popular over the years (cf. There Are Some Hints or Easter). fringes in various films of the franchise through subtle elements, characters or plots)… Of course, it is a product of our modern era (filming technique, effects), but at the same time it retains mostly the classic atmosphere and tonality.
The Alien movies
The visuals in general are pretty great, there are some really impressive shots here and there (great framing and composition)… Yes, this might disappoint those who feel a sense of ownership in the franchise, as it definitely expands and explores quite a bit stories (and this is what I personally look for in sci-fi sagas that span decades)… Also, the lead actress (Kaylee Spaney) carries the film really well, with quietness, subtlety and intensity… So if you’re looking for an alien movie that uses most old ingredients while re-introducing and/or reinventing and exploring more than we’re used to… Then you’ll have a great time!
